Do You Do Same Day Dental Extractions?
Yes, we do same day tooth extractions. We strive to help you get pain and infection free as early as possible.
Can I Save The Tooth?
The only way to truly know is to be evaluated during your emergency dental appointment. The extent of the damage can only be determined in person. The amount of pain experienced is not a very good indicator of whether or not a tooth has to be extracted or if it can be saved.
What Can I Do For Tooth Pain?
Tooth pain is the most frequent cause of dental emergencies. Please do not delay in calling Icy Dental if this is the case. Tooth pain can indicate that there is an infection and some dental infections can be life threatening. Your dentist will identify the cause of the pain and treat any infection that may be causing it. Sometimes, it can be saved with a root canal and other times, it may require a tooth extraction. Either way, try to get into the office as early as possible to get it resolved.
What Should I Do If I Traumatized A Tooth?
Some emergencies are time sensitive. If a tooth has been recently traumatized or knocked out, it is very important to come into the office as soon as you can. The longer time passes, the worse the prognosis for the tooth. For knocked out or avulsed teeth, if you are able, attempt to gently clean the tooth without removing any of the tissue stuck to it. The idea is to remove any debris that doesn’t belong on it without damaging the tissue on the tooth. If possible, try to place the tooth back in the socket and hold it in place until you arrive at the dentist’s office. If this isn’t possible, it is best to keep the tooth in saliva or in your mouth in order to help increase the chances of the tooth surviving. Keeping the tooth in milk is another good option.
One Of My Crowns Came Loose. What Now?
Loose dental crowns are another form of emergency that would benefit from a prompt visit to the dental office. Be sure to come in with the crown in hand if possible. Your dentist at Icy Dental will examine the crown and recement it if it is advised. Sometimes, crowns may come loose as a result of cavities developing underneath the crown. If this is the case, other treatments may be recommended.
